Do this first, my wife turned my thermostat on to fan Sat. morning to "air the house out" Later Saturday it started getting hot so she closed the windows while we were watching the game and it didn't cool off. I checked it Sunday morning and sure enough the thermostat wasn't on cool setting so compressor would not kick on. switched it and cooling fine now LOL
