in general, i agree with you. However, I have attended many funerals in "work clothes"....jeans and a collared shirt. in my business, i cannot wear a suit very often. I normally am not much of a tie guy. I do have one tie that is a special one. Wore it for my LSU roommate's funeral, and my dads funeral. I will not wear it until i attend my moms funeral.

regarding weddings, first marriage = tie. anything past that = suit but no tie.
