Follow the Scottish saying—there is no bad weather, only wrong clothing—and you’ll have a great time in Mar/April. Just don’t go to seacoast resort towns, as the Italians don’t go to the beach in winter in any great numbers. Off season coastal resort towns are often half empty and full of closed for the season businesses.

Italy has beautiful beaches which you'll want to explore in good weather. trust me on this one
