Question about Speed Queen (Washer Size)

I am moving and have to get a new washer and dryer. I am leaning toward speed queen, but was told the drum area is smaller (no models larger than 3.3 cub).

Does any one have any issues with the size as far as load size? Or, have you found that it is plenty sufficient?

I have the top loader and it’s one of the best purchases I’ve ever made. Gets clothes cleaner in less time so even if it is smaller it doesn’t matter. It will last longer than the alternatives

Keep in mind the less volume is likely due to the agitator. In the washers without agitators the clothes get flung against the sides anyway so again, doesn’t matter.

Get a 2005 kenmore super capacity deluxe for $50 off Craigslist.

Same thing.

Load size is smaller than the "norm" now-a-days. It matters if you have a large family.

We went to Speed Queen after being burned with Samsung, with no complaints....but the craigslist idea is probably the best advice to take. LOL

Do not buy a speed queen particularly none any made after 2017.

I made that mistake. They simply do not clean clothes as they should. Consumer Reports ranks them dead last in washer reviews.

The tank is small and I can’t fill it as much as I would like if I want my clothes even close to clean.

The suggestion to buy a used old Kenmore is a good idea. Buy it and change any worn parts. The government standards that went into effect ruined washing machines.

I posted this in a thread about a month ago. Speedqueen had one bad redesign in 2018 but, they realized their mistake and went back to the original design in 2019. I don’t have any problem with the washer size. Even though the tub is smaller than normal, it equals out because the tub fills up all the way with water instead of a few drops in other brands that you can buy now. This machine cleans clothes very well and very fast! I would highly recommend if you need to purchase a new washer.

I bought the 2019 TC5 model when my old Maytag went out about 6 months ago. They had just came out and there wasn’t a lot of information on the 2019 at the time. There is definitely a lot of negative information out there about the 2018 models and rightfully so. I did find a YouTube video that did a review of the 2019 model and when they took the front cover off of it, they said it was built exactly like the pre-2018 models. Apparently Speedqueen did a 180 really quick after the redesigned 2018 models. After 6 months of using mine, I am VERY pleased with mine and I am a first time Speedqueen owner. This washer actually washes the clothes and it does it fast. The dealer that I purchased mine from emailed me last week to let me know that during September they are offering a 10 year warranty in case I wanted the matching dryer. I don’t need a new dryer but, the 10 year warranty is included on the washers also. This was one of the best purchases I have made.

On their website they still feature the TR series for homeowners and those washers are POSs.

I don't know anything about the TC5.

I do know my dealer would not take my back back even for half price only two weeks after I bought it. Alliance, the manufacturer, said I didn't know how to wash clothes.

I wish these independent dealers the best and understand they sell Speed Queen because it is not in the big boxes but in my only experience with Speed Queen I found both the dealer and the manufacturer to be much lacking in customer service when it comes to standing by their product.

My washer will not even take coffee stains out of a t shirt with one washing.
