real persimmon is dense and doesn't look grainy. It will have a few dots in the face and some grain, but not as much as softer wood.


You'll know laminate as soon as you see it.


Good luck. You'll have fun learning to get some result from those old things, but I think you're going to be disappointed with the feel. Find some old Tour Balata balls to get the full affect
