It's not for fighting, it is for defense. Id like to see how many self defense applications of firearms required the person to have staying power on the scene. If you want a fighting tool you need an M4.

Let's also see how long we have to dig through youtube to find an instance of a semi auto hanging up in shooting vs finding a revolver hanging up.

The revolver is as valid of a self defense firearm now as it ever was. Now we have 7 and 8 shot double actions to chose from.

Lot's of myth's floating around in this thread.

EVERYONE here needs to watch this video.

The Best Handgun Caliber - A Real World Study

Basically it shows that nobody here is wrong, there are just differing degrees of right.

From the video...

quote:

There is no statistical difference between the standard defensive rounds
(38 special, .380 ACP, .45 ACP, 9mm, .357 magnum, 40 S&W, .44 magnum.)

quote:

"If you had to pick one, the .357 magnum offers an almost unnoticeable advantage in lethality in one shot stops to the head and torso."

That's a distinction without value. If you're using your weapon against another person, you're in a fight. It doesn't matter if that's against a home invader in Alabama or a terrorist in Afghanistan.

YouTube. Where firearms instructors are born in 2019.

I'd rather see how long it takes for you to find a credible trainer or expert who would recommend a revolver over a semi-auto for self defense in the context of the OP.

That doesn't change anything that I've said. It's not the best choice in 2019. Period.
