As of now, I'd bet on it being at night. HOWEVER, if LSU and A&M both win out (not the most likely scenario, but not impossible), then this game could well be more attractive than the Iron Bowl and could end up in the 2:30 slot.

The Iron Bowl has been on CBS that week every year going back to 2014. It wasn't on CBS because they had already selected alabama 5 time. Alabama won't be selected the maximum number of times this year based on the schedules between now and rivalry week. Before 2014 the iron bowl was also on CBS all the way back to 2007 when Alabama was very unranked and Auburn was 25th (even including 2012 when Auburn was 0-7 going into the Iron Bowl). THey're going to pick the Iron Bowl almost no matter what.

ETA: This is easier to frame it.

Years the Iron Bowl (when played on Saturday) has not been picked as the CBS game of the week

2014 (Alabama ineligible to participate on CBS)
2007 (Alabama unranked and Auburn #25)
2003 (Alabama unranked, Auburn unranked)
Most games before 2000 (height of Bowden vs. Spurrier, odd years CBS picked up this game as it was at Florida, even years CBS selected Tennessee and Vandy and Georgia Georgia Tech)

So this century CBS has only not picked the Iron Bowl twice by choice and both times both teams were awful.
