Question about how cross play is going to work with modern warfare

So I have an Xbox One that I normally play games like this at home sitting on the couch. I did also recently purchase a gaming laptop to take on the road with me.

I was wondering, would it be possible to use the same "activision account" to keep my same profile from one platform to the other? I am not sure if they lock your activision account to one platform etc. Anyone know?
