Belichick trusts his eyes and his intuition to make his decisions.
Obviously he is aware of the "advanced metrics" available, but uses them as a tool in service to said intuition; not the other way around.
He just has a next-level type mind/sight for the sport that is unique and probably won't ever see again upon his retirement.
