Anyone here ever been to Sarasota, FL?

Potentially moving there in the spring time. I’ve heard it’s a retirement haven, has some nice beaches and shops, good neighborhoods, and good schools. Does anyone here have first hand knowledge?

Close to Naples. Naples is pretty, but expensive.

Like others said many pretentious assholes. If I was you I’d move a little further south in a smaller city like Venice.

I really like going to the beaches around sarasota as a quick weekend getaway. People have been nice every time I've gone down, great food in the area, and plenty of flight options from there or Tampa if you need to get out
