While I agree that the hate for *all Texas fans* is a bit overplayed here (shocker). I will say that with the amount of Orange in that stadium, and alcohol flowing...

I have no doubt that there were a-hole Texas fans that acted like shite towards our fans. It wasn’t everywhere, and certainly not the norm, but it did happen. That being said, *some* of our fans do that shite too after a long day of drinking.

It’s not school specific and it’s certainly a part of college football. Bottom line, don’t be dicks to opposing fans, unless they’re asking for it.

I got suckered to go to a house party here in Austin for the game. The reason I went was the promise of a shrimp/sausage boil with lots of other goodies. While I knew the host and everyone else there, except for my buddy, would be Texas fans I didn't see any reason not to go and show the LSU colors, so I wore my Gold LSU t-shirt.

The minute I walked in the house, the drunk host got in my face about the t-shirt and was so mad I thought he was going to get violent. I just stood there with a smile on my face and let him rant(hmmm?). His wife and a few other folks got him quieted down. Later on he sobered up some and I got him to talking about why his team was so good and gradually he seemed to accept me.

I knew we were going to win the game so I didn't even rub it in when we started to pull ahead. The free food was great and overall I had a great time, met some real nice folks. Life is what you make it. We all have the free will to be a jerk or a good guy.
