Never had an issue with any of my replacement batteries. Is this with the rechargeable ones or replaceable too?

Replaceable. All my mini mags have done it if I've left them in my truck console.
My D cell ones too if I've left them in the door of my truck (inside pocket)....Batteries swell and you MIGHT be able to drill them and put a long screw in them and pull it out...or not.
