If BHO had done it in 2009, I would have been horrified and insulted.
If in mid-2016, I'd likely have been quite concerned, but would have been open to the idea.
And then I'd wake up and realize that John Kerry would have brokered the deal, and we'd all be speaking Talibani today.
Despite your attempt to equate these events, Obama and Kerry approached the world weakly and apologetically. Trump doesn't do that.
Your comparison is terrible. Here's another hypothetical for you... if JFK or LBJ, somehow president in 2019, invited them to talk, I'd expect a Trump-style arse-kicking of the Taliban.
