That wasn’t what I meant, he used the ole Ferrari to Edsel analogy I don’t think that’s good but that’s another discussion besides we were going to dip after 87 regardless
To your point one of the other options was MSU DC Nick Saban another was Mack Brown who, unlike the other 2 had coached at LSU and was a HC in the state. Hindsight is always 20/20. Spurrier may have wanted the job but he wasn’t the Ole Ball Coach yet. Alabama and Texas hired coaches that year so it wasn’t like LSU was the only program that didn’t hire him he got the Duke job that year
