I simply don’t understand getting triggered by a word. As a Louisianan, are you offended when people call you a coonass? What about redneck? Are white people angry when called a cracker? Even when these terms are used as a derogatory slur by the speaker, they have no effect on me. I identify with some of the qualities associated with all of those terms. The simple fact that you can type coonass, redneck, and cracker on here and people think they have to use all types of symbols to type n!**@r is ridiculous. Words have only the power that you give them.
