Wife and I recently purchased a home from an elderly gentleman and in the main guest bathroom is one of those walk-in bathtubs for the elderly/disabled. Being that this is the main guest bathroom we want to make it functional by putting in a shower/tub combo. How the hell does one remove this thing and what the hell do I do with it? This model seems to be high end ($5k+) and don't want to just throw it away. Is there some type of resale market for these?

No market for resale. Take a crowbar and hammer to the edges and rip that shite out.
