Hard and cold is why I love it. I live in a swamp: ten months out of the year, I want cool tiles underfoot. I never have to spend a minute of concern on water damage or wear. I’ve got a classic look easily softened by rugs if I get tired of it.
Us too. San Antonio is hot as balls. I'd go with something else if I lived in Seattle. We've got wood-look tile, and everyone loves it. Especially the dogs.

I have it all, ceramic, carpet, porcelain, hard wood floors and vinyl floors. Yes, my re-engineered wood floors are beautiful but anything marks or scratches it. I put a rug in my office and sewing room to help with scratches. My husband hates ceramic in kitchen and breakfast areas because it hurts his feet and walks with crocs in the morning. I hate to have to clean grout line but now it’s laid without. I have the vinyl and love it. Can’t wait to replace ceramic soon.
