Planning a trip to the Pinehurst area and looking for any advice as none of us have been before. Planning to stay at Pine Needles or Mid Pines for 2 nights, regular hotel one night, and Pinehurst for one night. The packages we're looking at include unlimited play at Mid Pines or Pine Needles each day we're there so we'll probably play 36 at each. Pinehurst Package includes 1 round of golf, so we're planning on playing No. 2, then playing the cradle (maybe multiple times) and the putting course. We're debating playing Tobacco Road or another Pinehurst course (probably No. 8 or 4) on the way out of town. Anything we're missing that we definitely need to do or change?

Any restaurant/bar rec.'s?

Have to eat at Pinecrest Inn. Just classic place.

Stayed at Mid Pines when I went, restaurant and bar there is solid.

Tobacco Road is a great golfing experience. Just a unique track, fore caddie is a must.

If you can get on at Dormie Club, that course is spectacular. Believe it’s now private.

I went a couple of years ago and we played 8, 7, and 2. All were spectacular. I heard #4 is great after the redesign. Heard good things about Tobacco Road as well. Enjoy!

I stayed at Pinehurst (forget the little hotel name - but one of the cheaper options) and played #8 and #2. Place is spectacular - enjoy it. Was a quick trip for me so no recommendations but you will have an absolute blast.

I've played Tobacco Road a few times. It's unique, challenging, and just a cool course.

I need to get back down there.
