The threat of the CPS call was a bit much, but I’ve seen parents call CPS on a teacher for not taking a piece of pencil graphite out of a kid’s hand even when he didn’t tell anyone he had it until he got home. Actually became a full blown lawsuit, claiming he has permanent nerve damage from it (it was dropped).

So I don’t blame them for trying to cover their asses, it just could’ve been handled better.
