Asshat moves like that from asshat parents are as bad as the policy. Do you think the teacher wants to be in the middle? Of course not. But asshat overbearing parents and asshat overbearing administrations put the teachers in the middle. Shame on them both.

In fairness, this is kind of the root of the problem here.
Most of the odd or overkill policy you see in schools are a direct result of someone “losing their shite” because something wasn’t done the way they wanted it to be. So the schools have to play CYA and swing the pendulum way in the other direction.
If everyone would simply stop “losing their shite” then we could probably have more sensible policy and administrative actions from schools.
