Still need downfield passing on deep routes, which requires competent blocking from the line and backfield. We aren't nickel and diming SEC teams up and down the field.

Agree, and if reports (and practice videos) are to be believed, it's still a part of the offense.

BUT...at least it's not the ONLY part of the passing game.

I refer you to last year's Bama game when we were backed up against the goal line. PA slow developing pass play wasn't the call to make there, but frankly, that WAS our passing game last year and in fact the past several years. Just hope that's no longer the case.

Last season: OMG! We need to Getrid if the ball quickly! The only teams to beat Bama did just st that!

ThiS summer: I heart our old offense with long developing pass plays and fullbacks, and tight ends...
