A little jaded... Metro Atlanta accounts for virtually all the brain capital and 80% of the GDP. Outside of Savannah, the state as a whole isn't any better than the rest of the south.

Yes and no... I'm stationed in Valdosta and although the demographics are tilted heavily towards minorities, it's a very safe town with a pretty good economy... I can't wait to leave though. Weather sucks.
