We should cut our defense spending to 1.5% too.
We wouldn’t have the money to station troops or missiles or carriers to defend Germany at all. Just our own country.
I don’t think Merkel would appreciate the irony.

I like that idea.
By the way, Germany has a balanced budget each year and we have 22 trillion in debt.
I do think we should put some tariffs on Germany to offset the costs we incur to defend them same with the EU. Once we finish with the china deal its coming. Course that will be in Trump's second term, and by then the EU will have dissolved itself and we can negotiate in bi lateral mode, none of this trade bloc crap.
