Swap this out for NFL-style match-ups against the teams from the "off-rotation" divisions that placed the same as you the previous season. Parity is better than forcing traditional rivalries.

I completely agree that this is the better format, and I originally had this, however I made the “rivalry concession” as it is always the biggest hang up.
