Correct, Louisiana's problems go far beyond R vs D. We have had good governors( not all) in this state going back to McKeithen who found themselves hamstrung. Only guy who could get real results in the last 40 years was Mike Foster. Roemer had some good ideas, conservative ideas, long term solutions and he succeeded in uniting R&D in preserving the status quo at the time which then begat Duke v. Edwards. Jindal ended up succumbing to being ineffectual as well.
