They are, but if I'm not mistaken some were granted retrials due to the original judge being a pill head and getting sexual favors in return for reduced sentences

That was Judge Baumgartner, and he's now dead. Of "natural causes at 70. and the dude looked early 90s.

The first round of trials had Eric Boyd barely charged with anything. So this wasn't a retrial, but a new trial on additional charges.

The savagery reminds me of this crime I posted the other day.

Happened near Baton Rouge in 2006. All 3 of these guys deserve death for what happened to this guy and girl.

quote:

Garcia was tried and convicted in June 2008 for the murder of Matthew Millican after kidnapping and brutalizing him and his girlfriend at knifepoint in Port Allen.

Garcia, along with his co-defendants, ended up here on a crime spree that started in Florida where they sexually assaulted and murdered a woman in her home.

While running from their crimes in Florida, they stole a travel trailer in Slidell that broke down while they were traveling on Interstate 10 in West Baton Rouge Parish.

Gets horrible. Girl ended up walking in front of a train 3 years later.
