I don’t think he’s that high. Sullivan (though technically at TE now), Dillon, and McMath are all probably ahead of him now. Jefferson, Chase, and Marshall obviously all are. But I think that’s the point. Dude has NFL physical gifts but keeps getting passed up by younger guys for reasons that likely don’t have anything to do with pure talent.
And I hope this is the wakeup call he needs. I’ve been a big fan since his freshman year. And even with the guys ahead of him, I think our offense is at its best when he’s part of the WR rotation. I hope he makes a ton of drive-extending and touchdown catches throughout the season. I’m just really skeptical at this point. I don’t think that’s some sort of controversial take.
