I heard the end of the topic. He was talking about Scott Woodward’s next change will be compliance. I literally got horny hearing that lol. He said he just wants LSU to be on a even playing field with Bama and the rest of the SEC.

Take it with a grain of salt. Charles can sometimes put his fan hat on and but still talk like it's something he's heard for a fact. I have faith in Woodward to get it right, but I really doubt you're gonna see big public changes, more likely there's just a little shuffling without drawing a ton of attention.

No, I think everyone pretty much knows compliance is getting restructured in a big way

Scott Woodward just put a hiatus on LSU athletics paying the university north of $7,000,000 per year. In the past decade, nearly $100mm.

I would classify that as a "big public change" that "drew a ton of attention."

Bohansen is on a witch hunt to get Wade fired and isn't even trying to hide his hatred for Wade, they even asked for Tasmin's phone who wasn't even able to recruit till last month.

Maybe that will get the attention of F King. He needs to STFU when it comes to private donations paying for buyouts and facilities.

Yup, one of my good buddies is tight with the coaches and talks to them weekly.

Well, to be fair, Charlie did preface his comments by saying it would be a move that was likely not to be made public or receive very much attention.

OP, he basically said that we have already seen Woodward make the personnel moves at the top of the AD that he wanted coming in. He believes Woodward’s next move will be in the compliance department based on Woodward’s comments made when he first got to LSU. He pointed to comments he said about wanting a compliance dept that doesn’t break the rules, but rather can get him and his coaches to a “yes” within the rules as opposed to always just saying no and being resistant. Said he wants to be able to play on the same level field as other programs like Bama instead of holding ourselves back.

And what does that have to do with compliance?

I think that's all pretty reasonable and I obviously didn't hear what Charlie said. You can just tell by some of the comments in this thread and others that some are expecting Woodward to put heads on stakes. Maybe he does, but I think you're much more likely to see some quiet restructuring and a new culture that achieves the goal above without making a show of it.

Like announcing no more AD funds to Academics days after he uproar over a new football ops? Yeah, he’s worried about attention.

For the second fricking time, what does that have to do with compliance?

I never said he was opposed to doing something publicly, I said I don't think he will make a big show out of this, and apparently I should have given Hanagriff more credit because he said the exact same thing.

That is exactly how he said it would likely happen.

I mean I’m nowhere close to being qualified to be a athletic director and i’ve been screaming ever since the honey badger situation that there needs to be a change in compliance they want us to beat Alabama so bad so you have to go by the same rules as Alabama. Woodward Understands getting on the same playing field as Alabama and start beating Alabama on a regular basis how much more money would start rolling in from donations. That’s one thing that dick nose Allevav did not understand sometimes it is all about winning!

The reason to quietly change the way we view and enforce compliance is to not publicly scream out to the NCAA "We are going to be camped out in the grey areas of the rules." The public/NCAA does not need to know. We don't need the extra attention. Just get it done. The more we don't hear, the better.
