Pretending this really happened, why does King think Publix should address what some random customer may have said to another customer?

The guy acted like an arse, but nothing the store could have done about it.
Setting that aside, I cannot imagine accosting someone for being a few items above the count, and I REALLY cannot imagine accosting a VERY pregnant woman (9 MONTHS) for doing so. Hell, I would help her unload her cart onto the conveyor, even if she TOLD me she had 15 items.
