Agreed. It's like two films in one. The first is the action film with Dutch's boys vs. the guerrillas. Then it becomes a sci fi slasher film. 80s films like this, RoboCop, Termintor, are perfect 100% films that don't need remakes.

It is essentially a slasher film but throws out all the usual conventions. Typical slasher film has the monster chasing a bunch of weak, stupid, unarmed teenagers. This movie has the monster going after a bunch of heavily armed tough badasses. In the end, Arnold has to win with his brain, not his guns.

Robocop should have stopped with 2
Predator should have stopped with 2
Terminator should have stopped with 2
The Alien franchise should have stopped with 2

Four great movies, with decent (Predator), pretty good (Robocop), or absolutely outstanding sequels (Terminator and Alien(s)), that should have stopped with their second movies each.

I'm curious if anyone has read any of the Dark Horse comics for them. I read the Robocop vs Terminator series when I was a kid, absolutely loved it.
