At his size, the injuries he needs to be worried about are foot and knee injuries. The more weight you carry, the more force that's exerted on those areas. Ask Yao Ming.

There's no doubt that losing about 20 lbs would reduce his risk of injury significantly.

Also, when you're losing a pound, you're not just losing a pound. You're reducing the amount of energy you need to move your body. If you are already pretty strong and you lose mostly fat, losing a relatively small amount of weight can greatly improve performance. At his size, there's really no downside to losing about 20 lbs.

Yao Ming had undersized feet he wore an 18 by comparison Shaq wore a 23. Idk what Zion's shoe size is but that would be my main concern. Are his feet too small?
