The previous week we lost Williford for the year (and we weren’t blocking UF worth much with him anyway) and then Hurst quit during the week. We had to start a couple freshmen vs Clowney and that other DE SC had who I think also got drafted. I had no faith in blocking them whatsoever. I’ve always said that rebuilding that OL mid season was an underrated coaching job by Stud and Les.

That week going into that game was an all time negatiger wet dream. It was the most negative week in the middle of a season that I can remember. That was a great coaching job to get them up and ready to play for that game following a tough loss to Florida and the season turned around after that. The quote “Where opponents dreams come to die” was after that game.
People i think forget but that team was a late drive and Chavis meltdown versus Bama from it being LSU-Georgia playing in the SEC championship for a chance to win a national championship against Notre Dame.

That team had 23 scholarship players out by the end of the UF game. Kwon broke his ankle and lonergan went out with back spasms. Plus the guys you mentioned, and of course tm7 booted off the team. Not sure if blue was banged up, Hilliard was not having the season after a stellar end to 11 and of course Hill emerged.
2012 was an underrated season. Barely lost to Bama, and couldn't hold on to Clemson, and we all know the path they were on now. But it seemed like a shite loss then.
Beat that sc team and manziels Tamu.

at one point in the year we had lost 2cbs,3 olinemen,2lbs,2cbs, and lost TM7 right before the season. one of the most unlucky lsu teams ever in regards to injury

Alex hurst quitting in the middle of the year as one of our starting tackles is still bizarre to me, even though I am aware he had lots of personal stuff happening
