IMO, many of these "protesters" don't want a sit down with anyone who may have a different opinion on those issues because then you have a debate. When you give an pre-discussed interview or send out tweets, you control the narrative. Well, most of the time. Ted Cruz made Kaep look like an idiot with his Fredrick Douglass tweet last week but that is an outlier. They will justify their decisions to not sit down and discuss these issues with Trump or journalists like Travis because they are racists and bad people. I think the real reason is they are afraid of what might happen if they do.
