You have to be really dumb, really desperate, or really really brave to walk into someone’s unlocked door, uninvited.

What's your point? These people exist. Watch the news. 7billiom people in the world, there's plenty of dumb, desperate folks.

Lol easy there bro, I'm not saying I don't have means of protecting myself and my family. Simply saying I'm not delusional enough to think there's no circumstances where I would be caught off guard. Also, it's ironic you're arguing for leaving doors unlocked and boasting about personal responsibility of protecting your family in the same breath.

See my previous posts... Are you implying you're never vulnerable at any point? Do you sleep? Take shits? Have sex with your wife? If you left your door unlocked at night to where the burglar can sneak in without making any noise while you sleep, you really think you're winning that fight 100% of the time?

I'll go ahead and lock my doors, just in case I don't have my gun next to my shampoo while I'm showering

The point is, for every one of those people, there are 100 or 1000 who do not take responsibility for their own safety and security, and if only half of them did so, there would be so damn many dead home invaders, the ones who still exist may find an easier target to prey upon.

Did I say that? No, I didn’t. Maybe you should read my post again, with comprehension this time. I lock my doors at night, it’s part of protecting my family. But if everyone took responsibility for themselves and their family, criminals would come to understand that locked or not, whatever they find behind that door is most likely going to cost them a gunshot injury at best, and their life at worst, they may find a better use of their time. A job perhaps?

See my previous posts. I put time, energy, and thought into minimizing the vulnerability of myself and my family. It is a priority for me, and I work on it regularly.

Do you sleep?

Obviously a rhetorical question. I also have a tactical shotgun hanging beside my bed. I have motion lights and cameras linked to my phone, sitting in the headboard of my bed, about a foot from my head.

More rhetorical questions. I already mentioned the shotgun in my bedroom, it’s not alone. And yes, I have provisions in my bathroom as well.

You’re assuming the burglar gets by my 105 pound dog, who sleeps in the living room, I guess. I’m sure it would have to be a consideration, if a burglar were able to enter my house without setting off any of the 4 motion lights, activating any of the cameras associated with those motion lights, sneak past my incredibly protective dog (8 feet away at most) and into my bedroom. John Wick would probably take me. Thank God he is an imaginary character in a movie.
