Honestly it’s never crossed my mind that someone would break into my house in the middle of the day while I’m home. That just doesn’t happen here

It doesn't cross my mind much either, but it's the habit I developed from a young age. Break-ins "never happen" until they do.

To me, it's not like it's an inconvenience or difficult to lock them, so the pros vs. cons just always weighs in favor of keeping them locked IMO. You can always get smart locks too, so there's not a risk of locking yourself out.

Front door is barely used, so locked. Garage is closed, so interior door is never locked. Two sets of back sliders with hurricane proof glass that weighs a ton, usually unlocked while home. The gators and pit-bull mix are deterrents. Oh, and I don't live amongst trash...
