Um. No. We are dangerously entering Weimar territory. Further weakness is definitely not the answer.
But just be aware there are old school liberals out there right now who are alone and looking for a home. And we can invite them in and they can help us not only destroy the Progressive movement, but maybe even the Establishment and Collectivist movement too.
It’s as simple as not acting like every Liberal is a commy piece of shite. You’ll just push these folks to the extreme left. Yes, their moderate Liberal views still don’t align, but at least they’re not absurdly extreme like Progressives are.
But these Classic Libs hate PC and identity politics as much as we do. There’s way more than you think too. And they are sitting there in limbo confused on which way to go. Invite them in, respectfully disagree with their points of view, but don’t be such an arse to them you push them back to the left. It’s really not that difficult.

Classic liberalism is dead and the "extreme left" is actually the mainstream democratic party. Political correctness newspeak is the order of the day.
Your thinking is wishfully out of touch. Go watch their debates, read their public statements, and examine their voting records.
The "extreme left" is mainstream D. I wish they weren't, but they have already embraced what they are. And there is only one type of communist.

Frankly we should be ignoring the loons and forcing all democratic candidates to answe for their support of the fricking crazies that have taken over the left. All democratic politicians should have to answer for why they haven’t outright denounced domestic terrorist organizations like BLM and Antifa.
Every time a republican goes in public they have to answer for some ridiculous Neo Nazi shut that they have never vocally or even peripherally supported.
For now Trump has the answer. Continue to run against the media and the crazies in the party. They are their own worst enemies. The right should continue to marginalize the “center-left” until the center left decides they want to act like grown ups and put the children back in time out where they belong.
