10. TJ Finley - The LSU commitment gets the nod from our staff for the final spot. At 6-foot-6, 249 pounds, Finley was the biggest passer in attendance and showcased some of the more unique arm talent on hand, as evidenced by his victory in Saturday’s cover two rail shot competition and his strong showing in the red zone 7-on-7 portion. Finley didn’t hesitate in taking shots downfield during 7-on-7 play. While he will need to continue improving his footwork and mobility along with efficiency on Friday nights, the Ponchatoula (La.) showed upside as a passer during his time in Frisco.

How many QB's participated in this event??

Is that the final standings or do they still have more rounds to go?

Most of the stuff I read discussed that he had a big arm but was inconsistent with his accuracy. That's not uncommon with big arm passers, but just being able to throw the ball hard and far doesn't mean much if you can't hit you're target.
He hasn't played a down of college football yet, so it's hard and unfair to judge him right now. It seems to me the question is will he be like Jamarcus Russell who had the big arm, but also showed the touch and accuracy necessary to succeed at LSU? Or, will he be like Brandon Harris/Jordon Jefferson, neither of whom lacked arm-strength, but were horribly inconsistent with their accuracy.

One way to look at it:
He was invited to the elite 11.
He was invited to the elite 11.

Just hope our QB coaching gets him prepared for the next level.

I think his showing at this event just echoes what has been said about him. Very raw and unpolished but very talented as a passer. He just has to put in the work once he gets to campus to improve his body and footwork. Once he gets his footwork down, that will directly be tied to his accuracy as a passer.

So in other words hes got a Jennings/harris arm. No thanks

The fact that he doesn’t figure in our plans for at least 3 years is comforting

With the way QB’s transfer these days and the fact the injuries occur, you never know when it’s your time to take the reins.

He finished 11th, thus receiving the “final spot”. He was named one of the elite 11. Not bad

Confusing thread have 3 people one saying 10th others saying 7th and 11th.
So which is it?
So which is it?

On Twitter the article i keep seeing getting shared, they listed the mvp and then went in alphabetical order and Finley is 7th in alphabetical order on that list but its my understanding he finished 10th overall.

You negative shithead. frick you. TJ has the potential with his skills and natural attributes to be a great one. Quit bashing 17 year old kids you loser.

I hope I'm wrong, but I just don't see what everyone is raving about. He throws a good ball here and there, but none of those passes are with pads on and defenders rushing. He's not very quick and he has a very lazy release and his accuracy is questionable. Again, I hope I'm wrong, but I just don't see this guy playing at LSU!

Some fans get offended when you give an honest opinion on him but at this point your assessment is correct.LSU fans have become frustrated over the lack of success with QB recruiting and or development and rightfully so.

It's a young kid that's developing or trying to develop into a really good young QB, and with his physical ability that most QB's do not have (that kind of size, strength and talent), he can be a great one in the future if developed effectively and correctly. But you clowns trying to knock a young kid like this is just stupidity as usual on here, and there's no need for this crap. Y'all should be cheering the kid on in hoping that he becomes and grows into a great QB because he's the future at LSU. Who knows he could be the one that ends this Bama nightmare, and beats them on a regular basis in leading LSU to a couple of national titles, hopefully, along with being a rare LSU Heisman candidate.
