I assume you are white and this is your privilege talking. Lots of non-whites don’t understand interest and debt repayment and stuff that your real estate magnate/investment banker father taught you.

humorously, my dad claimed me for the first 2 years of college (he was paying my health insurance) and i couldn't get any local financial aid. i took it in and gave them my dad's tax documents. The financial aid officer said, sorry you're white and a male with a well off family.
