A representative of the NCAA was interviewed regarding which teams would be getting sanctions and he said, the only teams they can investigate are teams they have usable evidence against. Those teams are the ones that were discussed in open court. He said anything leaked to the press that was not discussed in open court or admitted as evidence in court can not be used as evidence in an investigation, only as a point of discussion. The NCAA has already had this discussion with LSU and Will Wade. Now with Funes, who is an LSU booster, using family of LSU football players to embezzle money a certain media outlet has overblown and exaggerated the LSU football programs involvement and are making it appear that LSU was using Funes to pay for players. In the article they mention Will Wade and the FBI wiretaps (again, for the millionth time, saying the NCAA is just starting an investigation into him, which isn't true).
This Funes thing has nothing to do with the LSU football program. Funes was embezzling money through people he knew and 2 of those people happened to be family of LSU football players. He was giving them the money and they were sending most back to him. He was paying them part of the money as payment for helping. In a Yawho article they even mention that the money he sent to Rohan's family was after his playing days at LSU (interesting they mention this since it basically clears saban of wrongdoing) The fact is Funes wasn't paying players to play for LSU, but that is exactly what Yawho is implying. Why does Yawho have it in for LSU? IDK, but it is becoming clearly evident they have an agenda to drag LSU through as much mud as possible and smear LSU as much as possible, even if they have to outright lie, and they have. I thought it was just Wade, but it isn't, it's LSU. With the schools that have already been given notice of impending sanctions and Yawho and their pawns are still going after LSU while ignoring everyone else. So now some LSU fans are going to start melting and gather goods for the impending catastrophe. As usual. Yawho is literally trying to destroy LSU in any way they can. And people are going to believe their lies.
