But you can’t tell me you aren’t extremely worried that the FO issues don’t spill over onto the court.
there is a level of worry. i also think the likelihood is much more likely that a pairing of lebron and AD will be very successful regardless of the front office situation

I just don’t know how Lakers fans can be so dismissive, Burt their head in the sand, and continue to just shout, “We’ll get someone, we always have!” “We’ll just replace that guy if it doesn’t work out!” “Everyone wants to play in LA!”

and i have no fricking idea how people can act like the lakers wont be a major free agent destination with AD on the roster and max cap space. i also dont get how people can continue to expect the lakers will have a man in charge who will literally forgot to iron out the deal execution date of a trade. i dont have much faith that the lakers will ever have a true, high level front office because i have no faith in jeanie creating one. but i also think what the lakers have right now is literally the bottom of the barrel and that any change will be an improvement and i also think that given the stature of the franchise, and given the fact that we will have max cap space once lebrons current runs out, i dont think we really needs a competent front office when they already have a star to sell to free agents and have the space to make the move

i absolutely think this run will end up in less championships than it should. i just dont think that means the lakers will be a disaster and will start losing lottery picks to NOLA

That’s fair. And I don’t mean to be singling you out, as most of my points have been directed more at the others. You have been the most rational Laker fan here.

I still think that you are glossing over the fact that any criticism of Pelinka is an indirect criticism of the ownership since they put him in that position. The people that thought Pelinka could lead this FO are going to be making the same decision to replace him. We haven’t even touched on the Klutch angle and influence, the huge magnifying glass and pressure that will be on this team, or the fact that Coaches and GMs are supposedly turning down the Lakers for “lesser” franchises (Williams and Griff).

But we’ll just have to see. This time next year, we’ll all have a good idea of where this will go. I’m actually excited to see AD and Lebron together. And as long as AD doesn’t just walk away next summer (which he won’t) then the Lakers can always recoup some assets by trading him if things go too far off the rails. It’s a rare win-win trade, Lakers are banking on on-court, and the Pelicans are betting on off-court. We’ll see which prevails
