Gus, I agree with you completely in that I trust Wade also. I have never met Merritt, and actually met and talked to Tasmin when he played at the pit in portsmouth, va years ago. Tasmin is one of my top 20 fav tigers ever, and I've been a fan since 1978. I can't wait for fb and hoops season.

Diversity shouldn't even be a thing, johnny. The most qualified person should get the job no matter the demographic.

Johnny, the most qualified person isn't always white or male, but the practice of affirmitave action, or diversity GUARANTEES that the best person isn't always hired. Not a hard concept to grasp. And as I agreed with an earlier poster, I trust Wade's judgement. What he has done to remedy the DEBACLE created by the previous staff is nothing short of a miracle.

Are you implying that didn't happen?
If so, who made you the authority or judge? You think Wade would hire the lesser qualified man? You don't win championships by hiring coaches who can't recruit and coach.

Gus, I have ABSOLUTELY NO CLUE if Wade made the right hire or not, but based on Wade's track record of success, I am 100% ok with the hire. Plus I like Tasmin a lot, one of my fav alltime tigers. My point was, if the last 2 candidates for that job were john calipari or oj simpson, oj would have gotten the job because he is black. It's a shame we can't hire the best person no matter the race. And yes, I know most players are black and it helps to have as many relatable coaches as possible.
