How are the older Pokémon games not available for phones

I don’t understand Nintendo on this.
( I get device monopoly aspect but still)
With the success of Pokémon GO why not offer the older Pokémon games through the app stores.
Create a central hub for connecting to players and a “PC box” ( or connect to Home) for keeping/ trading mons between games.
They could go all the way to 3ds games.
I used to jail break my iPhone and get the Roms so I know it’s possible
They could print money with that. I’d pay $5 per game. EZ.

There is... I mentioned in OP I used to do it. But now I’m too lazy and would rather just download the official game(s) and be able to trade or battle friends either online or local.

So you buy a 3DS/2DS and download it for $10 on the eShop instead

They are fixing to have a whole huge trade and social network with Pokémon home so even more so now they really don’t need to port the games.
They’ll be making bank either way.

You are missing out in a huge market by forcing people to buy an outdated handheld device that no one over 12 wants to be seen with.
A billion people already have phones and are on them 5 hours a day
Yeah I mentioned syncing with home. As of now I have played all games up to black and white but don’t have the devices anymore so Home is pointless.. unless I could download the older games on my phones and replay them to build my dex.
Also on home, they said not all Pokémon will be available in new game. Which is weird that they would announce home and then, with the very next game, say it’s irrelevant.
I’m not mad at the decision (because 800+ Pokémon is ridiculous and there’s a lot of stupid ones too) but it is a weird play after announcing Home

Why pay Apple 30% when they can sell on switch and get 100% cut?
