The couches are all sectionals in muted tones with one elegant blanket thrown just so. There is a trio of incomprehensible remotes on an ottoman or side table to control a large, wall-mounted screen (which has, of course, all the cable channels and usually HBO, too).

frick, I have all that and I am not rich by any stretch of the word. It is called budgeting. You can have all that by not doing things like not eating out for lunch every day, or not buying a coffee on the way in to work because you made your own, or not getting uber eats / waitr 3 times a week, or not buying new clothes every month, or not going out every single weekend.

It is easy to not do stuff. Coupling that with actually doing stuff that earns money, and poof! You have extra money for luxuries. Even if you do nothing extra and just stop doing needless shite that costs money, you can save. I hate shite like this. It tells people that successful people are bad, as if a nice home and disposable income are shameful.

One would think NOT doing something would fit right in with Millenials. Takes zero effort to do nothing and doesn't interrupt cell phone gaming and snapchat.
