Absolutely, many of our customers give us a budget to work within. And we let them know options to stay within their budget, and ways to have the ability to add things in the future. I’m biased, but my wife does a great job listening to our potential customer and giving them what they want and within their cost range.

What size company do have have, generally? I love landscaping; would love to get into the business one day but my current gig probably pays more

Small...I am full time and lead both our grass maintenance crew and the landscape/bed maintenance crew...which are the same people, lol. My wife has a part time job but holds our landscape horticulture license...she’s the brains of the operation...and she does all of the design and bidding. We’ve grown to the point of having 2 full time employees along with myself, and we add temporary workers during the busy months. We definitely aren’t getting rich, but bills get paid and it’s something I’ve always enjoyed since I began doing it as a summer job during my college years.

So less than $10k for grading, trees, shrubs, lawn and mulch? Sounds about right. Landscape, if taken care of, grows over time and adds to your property. You don’t see the benefits immediately.
