I remember that first year the lake was open, people were leaving that lake with literally ice chests full of fish and for some reason the wardens were telling people to keep every fish they caught. Then, fast forward a couple of years you can’t hardly catch a fish

That's good advice for a lake that was stocked like that. You have to thin the herd or it gets overpopulated. Like someone else said they just didn't get it right with the forage base. The lake is very deep relatively, and there aren't a ton of spawning flats for bream. Not sure why the shad aren't producing either. Bill Dance may be a better bait salesman than a lake designer.
