Back an electric truck down a boat ramp?
Do you worry about the rear end of your truck getting submerged? Why worry about an electric truck?

Are you worried about damaging it, or are you worried about the electricity? Neither should be of concern. I believe that, by law, all of the electrical and drivetrain components are IP65/66 rated or better. And the battery packs and drivetrain are already water cooled, so preventing leaks is kind of a priority. I assure you that water resistance will not be overlooked in the design of the truck.

Also there is ground-fault protection as well as emergency fuses to prevent electric shock.

Being worried about electric vehicles around water is kind of like worrying that there is extremely hot metal and dozens of explosions taking place every second in close proximity to a huge tank of fuel in a gas vehicle.

IP 66 isn’t sufficient for submergence, especially for electrical components. Need 67 at minimum.

you assume a lot.

You don’t see us fully submerging combustion engines either. Shielding the electric motors attached to the rear wheels from splashing is one thing but ensuring that the electric motors can stay fully submerged for extended periods of time, that’s another challenge. Seals and gaskets don’t last forever.
