Look, I think we have too many laws and we don't need a new law for every little issue just because some people think others shouldn't do it.

But there are some laws needed to protect people. The FTC can actually go after a company if they think it is a pyramid scheme and if it can be proven, can shut it down. But as you learn in the podcast, it's a complex situation. As a side note, I didn't realize the head of Amway is also the head of the Chamber of Commerce..

Anyway, there is a point in MLMs where it just isn't possible for people to work their way up because they are at the bottom and there is simply not enough people available to them who hasn't joined already, who can be sold on joining. Yet they are telling these people they can get rich by working hard. It's a pyramid scheme. There are only so many people who will benefit.
