I'm the service manager at a Kia store. Their reliability is pretty top notch. What really gets me is that they definitely stand behind their vehicles. They issued a recall on certain models and if those cars fail a test, the engine is replaced and comes with a lifetime warranty. We've been replacing engines in vehicles with over 200k miles on them completely free to the customer. They definitely aren't what they used to be.
