Dre wasn't the only owner of beats. They had to split that 3 billion up with a few other people. I believe he ended up walking way with 750 million.

Dre and Jimmy Lovine founded the company then I think a few other companies became majority stock owners which they eventually bought back the stocks right before selling to Apple..

But that wasn't Dre's only money stream.

Does he still produce music?

But didn't Dre already have enough to put with that 750 to make a billion?

Some of these cats are smart enough to hide wealth from prying eyes so they're not so interested in joining the "3 comma" club as they are keeping the taxman at bay.

I think Dre is one of those folks.

And didn't Bob Johnson (BET) crack a billion some years back? (And he has since rolled back, but still.) If that's not "Hip-Hop", it's at least in the key of Hip-Hop.
