I just changed strings for the 1st time on the Martin D-28 I bought about a year ago.
It had Medium Gauge,which I'm used to playing.
I put Martin Light Gauge on it.
I'm glad I made the change.Seems to ring and sustain longer.
Plus it's a lot easier on my finger tips.
I don't have any set time period for changing strings.
